Week 5

What. A. Week.

Haha.

I got to FaceTime my family which made me happy. :) Trevor and Anthony played some songs on the piano for me. They are beasts.

Mondays are just a no:

We actually did something kind of cool in my Light & Sound class for once:

On Thursday, we went to a block party and it was awesoooome. They had music playing, some fires going to roast s'mores and starburst, a little photo booth, and a limo. I really need to get out more because it was super fun. See, Rexburg can be fun!! Haha. Promise.

You can't tell, but we were sticking our heads out of the roof of the limo.

I <3 bonfires

Um, so coolest thing ever. There's a guy in my ward who is super good at magic, so he showed me and a few other friends some tricks.

So for this one, I picked a card, wrote my name on it in sharpie, folded it, and put it in my mouth.

While I had the card in my mouth, he picked his own card and wrote his initials on it. Then he put his in his mouth.

After a few seconds, he told me to take the card out of my mouth and open it up.

UM, this was the card that was in my mouth:

Like, whaaa?! My mind is blown.

Jeff and I decided we wanted to go on a nice little ride through the mountains...because for real, it is amazing back there! So so so gorgeous. I probably said, "Oh my goodness!!!" and "wow!!!" about fifty times while we were back there.

I also said "Oh my goodness..." and "wow..." when this happened:

Sooo I was debating whether or not I wanted to post about this because I'm really not looking for a pity party (plus I didn't really want my mom to see the pictures...haha!), but the reason I have this blog is so I can document things going on my life and look back at them later. Sooo...here it is.  Anyways...

Jeff and I were just chatting it up when we came around a corner and saw this guy, who wasn't paying attention, swerve onto our side of the road and...BOOM! It was so scary. I am so grateful that we were able to walk away just fine. Looking at the trucks, you would think that the people involved had serious injuries. We are both sore and got beat up a little bit, but seriously...what a miracle!

Memorial day will always be memorable, that's for sure! Haha.

Hope you're having a great day. :)

xoxo,
Lauren

Week 4

Well, this week was kind of sucky! Haha. It happens. Luckily it got way better at the end of the week.

...and when I got this gem in the mail... my mom sent me a mother's day gift, which made my heart so happy!!

It also got better when I went to the taco bus... because the taco bus makes everything better. Fo realz.

Then it really got better when we got invited to go glow in the dark shooting! It was seriously so fun. I found out I am awful at shooting (haha!) but it was awesome. I've decided I really need to get out and actually do stuff because Idaho is pretty freakin' awesome.

Coley's cute.

Oh shoot.

A mini vacay was a must, so off to Provo we went!

#haboob?

Umm I was literally dying when I saw this sunset. Literally. (Kourtney Kardashian, anyone?) ;) But why the heck can't pictures capture how amazing the sky actually is? You guys would have literally died too if you would've seen it. Literally. ;)

Not only am I awful at shooting, but I am also awful at horchata pong. I suck at more things than I thought! Haha. ;) I made one ping pong ball in out of ten...so that's good...

My cousin Alex and his family are awesome and let us stay with them! They had horses in the backyard, so obviously selfies needed to happen.

We went to a mall with actual stores and actual food and it was great! :) Coley got some missionary clothes and that just freaks me out... so exciting though!!

The Provo temple is a little bit ugly. Haha but that's okay!

But do you know what's not ugly? The mountains in Provo. Actually, they're gorgeous and I was literally dying again. ;) Literally. Haha okay, sorry. I'll stop.

All of this green totally reminded me of Indiana. So pretty.

We went to a little concert on Saturday night and it was awesome. The artists that performed were absolutely INCREDIBLE. I kind of want to be them a little bit.

Check em out here: Seventy3 Creative

Then it was back to Rexburg on Saturday night! It was a super fast trip.

This is what every Sunday of mine looks like...haha!

Things I've learned this week:

1. Don't drive to Idaho Falls for FHE without making sure that you actually have FHE in Idaho Falls...

2. Don't trust the receptionists at hair salons.

3. If you show up late to help clean the I-Center, you won't have to clean. Instead, you will get to help the missionaries serve refreshments to all the people that are cleaning. Haha. :)

4. I really hate science. But I already knew that.

5. Don't order flowers from Proflowers.com.

6. I scream really loud when I'm in a truck driving on dirt roads in the middle of nowhere. #babyspice

7. If you go shooting, you just might get bruised and be really sore the next few days.

8. Provo is a lot farther away than it seems.

9. I really like pizza.

10. I love Rexburg. I really do.

Enjoy this video. If you want.

Week 3

Soooo... cramming your whole week into one blog post is really hard. My apologies for being super sporadic.

In Sunday school we were learning a lot about Christ and the Atonement and these verses really stuck out to me...

Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest."

D&C 6:36 "Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not." (This has always been one of my favorite verses, but my Sunday school teacher pointed out the next verse to me and it makes me love this passage even more). Verse 7 says, "Behold the wounds which pierced my side, and also the prints of the nails in my hands and feet..." He always knows what we're feeling and there is PROOF. He suffered for our sins. I am forever grateful for my Savior.

No better way to start off your week than to witness a sight like this!

 #hatersbackoff

So pretty much the highlight of my week was when COLEY GOT HER MISSION CALL TO CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA!!! I cried. Partly because this means she's leaving me and I'm going to miss the heck out of her, and partly because I'm so freakin excited for her. She is seriously the greatest example to me. You can watch her mission call video here! P.S. Is she not the cutest thing you've ever laid eyes on?! #youreold #stopgrowingup

Lucky girl has this to look forward to... It's so beautiful there!!

Remember when me, Coley, and Jeff went out to Winger's and Coley ordered pancakes that were twice the size of her face? Those were good times. Also, our waiter was the coolest guy ever.

I just have one question... why? #itsstillwinter

My Saturday consisted of bumming, grocery shopping, solo jam sessions in the car, Panda Express, ping pong, and a movie. It was perfect.

My bishopric got all of us these little treats for Mother's Day. Freakin sweethearts!

Today was such a great day! If every day was like today, I would be one happy camper.

I'm so grateful for my wonderful mom. She is my absolute best friend and I love her more than words could ever say.

"I realized when you look at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know."

I am tired of being on the computer, so I'm going to peace out. Byyyye!

P.S. Me and Coley are going to try to make a video for our blogs every week because it seems like fun and we think we're a little bit funny. :) Here's the first one! Click here if you want to see what inspired us to make this video... it also explains the picture of us at the top of this blog post. ;)
