Week 1

I am exhausted and have very little energy to write this, but I told myself I would make a post every week, so that's what I'm going to do!

My first week was so crazy. Oh my goodness. I was questioning my survival at times. Haha! But I made it! I think this will be a good semester. I'm excited. :) Not a whole lot to report as far as classes go... I'm taking 15 credits, I have a 7:45 AM class that kills me, I have never done so much homework in my life, sleep is not a thing anymore... and that's about it!

So one thing I did this week was go and see donkey basketball... that was quite an experience! Haha. Here's an insanely low quality video:

That was about it for the school week. Nothing too exciting! But the weekend was AWESOME. If I were to have dreamt up the most perfect weekend and made it happen, it would have been this one.

Coley and I were on our way down to Idaho Falls on Saturday when we saw a TON of smoke coming from down the road, so obviously we had to go see what was up. There was a house on fire and it was so cool. I mean sad... but seriously it was wicked awesome!! Haha. Hopefully everyone was okay...

I'm sorry, is this not the coolest picture ever?!

Then we eventually went to Target to get a few things for our apartment. Plus we just love Target, soooo...

My friend Jeff came into town and he took me to the coolest place ever called Wolverine Canyon! I'm kind of in love with it. Haha it is so gorgeous! I had been a bit bummed earlier in the day because the weather was kind of depressing, but all the storm clouds in the canyon were incredible! I need to go back there ASAP. Shout out to Jeff for showing me one of the most beautiful places on planet earth! Exploring is awesome.

Thennnn... Coley and I went to the Scotty McCreery concert!! I'm going to be honest, I really only knew one of his songs. Haha. But that didn't stop me from screaming like crazy! He is such a stud.

Oh, and then I got called to be the ward Relief Society Secretary...which means I'm in the Relief Society Presidency...which means a lot of responsibility...which means a lot of meetings...which means less sleep...

but it also means that I'm going to be able to serve the sweet girls in my ward and that makes me happy.  The other girls in the presidency are absolutely incredible and they're going to be amazing. I'm excited!

I'm going to try to write about something I learn each week, so here we go...

Devotionals are one of my all time favorite things about BYU-Idaho. President Clark and his wife spoke and it was 100% exactly what I needed to hear.

President Clark said if when you look in the mirror and are discouraged, then to take another look and see your Savior standing beside you. How powerful is that? I'm so grateful for my Savior. It's kind of amazing to know that even if I was the only person on this earth, Heavenly Father STILL would have sent His son to die for ME... and He would have done it for YOU.

Have a great week, everyone!

Come with me to Rexburg... {again}

I'M BACK. :)

I can't believe it, but I am. I mostly can't believe it because I didn't know how I could survive the 26 hour drive to get out here, but I did it! With my wonderful Mom's help of course. Couldn't have done it without her. I feel like I can do anything now that I have done that trip. Haha! Feelin' pretty accomplished. :)

A few little things I want to throw into this post to look back on later...

It snowed on Tuesday and that was stupid. Haha! Not a fan of snow in the middle of April.

I had my last Qdoba Queso Burrito for quite some time. The moment had to be captured.

FaceTiming Nahiomi is always a must. I just want to cry forever because she's not up here for school this semester because she is leaving on her mission soon. I have never been at college without her!! I'M SO SAD. :( The Chilean people are in for a treat. Nahiomi is one of the absolute best people I have ever met and she is such a great example to me. I couldn't ask for a better best friend. She is going to be such an incredible missionary. Oh my. I just love that girl more than words could ever say!!!

Road Trippin...

I have to add that before the road trip began, I had to say some hard goodbyes. It was hard leaving Indiana. I, of course, had to say goodbye to my dad and my brothers which made me so sad. :( My sweet dad gave me a father's blessing and man, were those tears streaming! It is always so comforting getting a blessing from my dad before school starts. Thank you, Daddy, if you're reading this!! I love you!!!

And shout out to my sweet brothers! Please stop growing up. I love you all so much!!!

So yes. We did it. And I am still in shock. Haha!

It was SO great to spend time with my mom this weekend. I love her so much. Thanks again for everything, Mom! I'm going to start crying if I think about her too much. I'm just so grateful for her. So so so so grateful. I love you, Mommy!!!

*Coley Norton appreciation post*

Coley, what the heck. We need to take more pictures together!! #slacking Haha. I am so grateful I get to be roommates with this girl again!! I feel so blessed to be around such a wonderful person. She's just a little ball of fun [hopping around on the ground] ;) haha! Inside joke... And she's getting her mission call soon!! Why are all of my best friends leaving me?! :( Gosh dang it. I'm SO excited for her though!! I can't wait to find out where she will serve! She is going to be an amazing missionary. Wowzers, I have some awesome friends.

Here are some awesome quotes:

My thoughts are always so scattered when I write on this blog. Sowwy. Just one more thing!

I'm excited/nervous/anxious to see where this semester takes me! I'm surrounded by so many amazing people. I'm so blessed. And here's a little reminder {mostly for myself} of why I go to BYU-Idaho... It hasn't always been the easiest being out here, but I am so grateful I followed the strong prompting I got when I was a junior in high school to go to BYU-Idaho while I was watching this video.

Best. Decision. Ever.

"They will be natural leaders who know how to teach and how to learn. Those graduates of BYU-Idaho will become-- and this is a prophecy that I am prepared to make, and make solemnly. Those graduates of BYU-Idaho will become legendary for their capacity to build people around them and add value wherever they serve. I hope I live long enough someday meet some employer who employed one of you and says, "Where did that come from? I've never had such a person. And I'll smile and say,

"Well, come with me to Rexburg."

And I may not be able to show it to you, and I may not be able to prove it to you, but you'll feel it. There will be a spirit here, I so testify."

#sb2k14 in the 623

#sb2k14 was a massive success.

Never before have I needed a vacation so badly in my life. The Arizona sun was calling my name. The trip was about .5 seconds long. Haha. We got there on Monday night and left on Friday. Laaaame! That's okay. I'm glad we got to go. It was so great to see a lot of my family and a few friends! *Side note: If you're one of the friends I didn't get to see, I'm so sorry! I'm really not even that cool anyways, so really it's just my loss. ;) Anyways, it was such a fun trip. *Another side note: It rained and that was stupid, because I didn't go to Arizona for it to rain!! Haha.

Now I'm going to shut up for a few seconds so you can enjoy some pictures:

Uhh, since when did Arizona become greener than everywhere else?! Haha. I hadn't seen any form of life in nature for the freakin longest time because of this deadly winter, so this was a pretty cool sight to see.

Driving by our old house is always a must. It's s'cute.

We went to Jumpstreet with the cousins. Holla.

Most precious little dude in the world.

I'm pretty sure I have at least 50 pictures of Brooklynn stuffing her face in a bagel just like this one because that's the first thing we do when I come back and visit. Haha. Hot Bagels is da bomb diggity.

Red velvet shake?! GENIUS. Thanks for the best shake of my life, Brooklynn!

I made Brooklynn go to Sauce with me. Can I have a lifetime supply of these rolls, please? Thanks.

We're cute. ;) Shout out to Ciara for capturing this gem. Also, why didn't we get a picture together Ciara?! And Ben, you too! I'm a dumb.

My grandparents and Aunt Kathy went with us to go see the Gilbert Temple! Holy beautiful. Adding it to the list of potential temples I want to get married in. (There's like 15 on my list, haha). I'm never going to be able to choose! They are all so beautiful. But this one's gotta be at the top.

Oh, then we got our family pictures done. They are so cute! Selena is AHH-mazing! There are a few on Facebook you can go check out. :)

So that was #sb2k14! Here are some cool pictures I got when we flew through Vegas. It was such an incredible sight! Ohmygosh. You guys should have been there.

Let's change topics.

I saw the Indianapolis Temple for the first time yesterday! It's looking so beautiful. I hope I'll be able to come back and see it when it's finished. (This one is also on the list! Haha). Oh P.S. Did you guys watch General Conference?! I thought it was amazing. I couldn't watch all of the sessions because of work, but I definitely need to go back and watch the ones I missed. I feel so blessed to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The church is true. Go watch here: General Conference April 2014 You're missing out if you don't!

Today was my last day at the YMCA and that makes me want to cry. Mostly because I won't be seeing Mark, the sweet man who scans my card every morning, anymore. I'm going to miss that guy. (I gave him my blog address, so shout out to you Mark, if you're reading this!)

I only have one more day of work and that also makes me wanna cry. I'm so blessed to have been able to have a job at Ulta! What an awesome place to work. I started there when I was a senior in high school, and now I'm about to start my sophomore year of college. Like, what?

Since I only have one more day, I obviously had to stock up on my beauty stuff, because when the heck am I going to have this discount again?! (And I also don't want to have to use my food money at school to buy makeup. Haha). I think I might need therapy to calm me down because I spent so much money! Haha. I am set on makeup for a long while.

T-Minus SIX days, people.
Then I'm out of Indiana for good. Holy heck. That's just crazy.

Okay, I've really gotta stop rambling now. Have a happy day! :)
